Why I would kill for a Google Wave invitation
It seems like not that long ago rumours of email by Google started to appear, and months later an invite only release to Gmail was launched. Rushing to be an early adopter I looked hard and fast for an invitation until I landed on trusty old eBay. Back in the day you could buy invitations to Gmail from anywhere between $5.00-$100.00, the higher the price, the closer to the preview release date.
Now I am having deja-vu. With the launch of the developer preview of Google Wave, a limited number of users (100,000 to be exact) will have 10 opportunities to invite people into the Wave experiment. I want to be one of them. The appeal for me personally is the benefits I see wave having on business communication. No more email chains, no more outdated email protocols, no more fuss over 6 different communication tools. Communication integration, finally! The other appeal is the fact Google Wave is an open protocol, which means developers like us get the chance to contribute with tools, apps and idea of our own.
If you are excited as I am check out the video below:
So if you don't see me for a while, you'll know where I'll be, hunting for waves.
