There's 100000 apps for that
Apple has this week announced that its App Store now boasts more than 100,000 apps for its iPhone wielding customers.
In a press release from Apple, Travis Boatman, vice president of Worldwide Studios, EA Mobile said that the App Store has changed the mobile industry for the better. “With a global reach of over 50 million iPhone and iPod touch users the App Store has allowed us to develop high quality EA games that have been a huge success with customers.”
This sentiment was shared by Jeff Smith, CEO of Smule, whose I Am T-Pain app grabs around 10,000 downloads per day. “The App Store has given us a unique opportunity to create and grow a very successful business, and we’re looking forward to an exciting future.”

In social networking news, Twitter is testing a notification system, not unlike that of nemesis Facebook. The feature has only been rolled out to a small number of users at this stage, but, if all goes to plan, don’t be surprised if you see a pop-up when you log in informing you of a new tweet from someone in your social circle. For once-a-day users who attempt to be a tweep (that means “follower” for those of you not up on the lingo) of many, this is sure to provide an easy way to keep track of everyone’s updates.
