You're my Wonder Wheel
Our series on SEO Lessons has been delving into SEO tips and tricks you can try for yourself, including selecting and properly using keywords. While there are quite a few tools on the web you can use to help determine the success of possible keywords, Google’s Wonder Wheel is an interesting way to broaden your hunt for potential SEO keywords, and unearth your site’s untapped potential.
Simply make a search - I tried “women’s fashion dresses” - and then click “Show options” at the top of the results. Click “Wonder wheel” from the revealed side menu and you’ll see a mind map-style keyword exploration tool, combined with a narrowed search results list. Within a few click-throughs, you can discover keywords that you may not have even thought of targeting. Handy and fun!
We mentioned back in December that the NYPD were attempting to intercept Twitter-talk between rival gangs looking to arrange all-in brawls and general bloodshed, but it appears an argument on the social networking site may have been the catalyst for a young man’s recent shooting murder. While Twitter isn’t the one in the firing line, the argumentative tweets in question may be subpoenaed to support the prosecution’s case.
If this is allowed to stand as evidence, it will be the first time tweets are used in a murder trial. This case also shows how we are seeing increasing opportunities to harness the information overflow presented by social networking websites. Cases like this citing Twitter as evidence may be among first, but they definitely won’t be the last.
