Battle of the browsers and business on LinkedIn

Latest news on the iPad: the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) deems the iPad airport friendly! It's small and thin enough not to warrant a separate check, so you don't have to take your iPad out of your bag, unlike your laptop which must be screened separately. The TSA also said the iPad would not as likely be carried with accessories and external drives that can obscure a clear X-ray scan image. Another touchdown for iPad, and maybe reinforcing their market window to business flyers.

In the world of browsers, Google Chrome looks like it's taking over faster than ever. In the last couple of months, their grasp on the market rose to over 6%, which is ahead of Safari and Opera - while Firefox currently holds almost 25%. Most browsers only rose a fraction of a percent in this period, and Internet Explorer continued its decline.

The increase in Chrome's popularity is possibly thanks the new version release of Chrome for Mac in February, which saw all the early rustiness done away with as well as all the jazz of PC browsing. In a brief poll conducted by Twitter, it seems a lot of people converted from Firefox, Safari and IE after hearing it was a faster experience. Others said Firefox was still the go thanks to key features and plugins that Chrome as yet doesn't have. And some in big businesses still used IE, at least during working hours.

More on business, Mashable has five stellar tips for using LinkedIn to find employees: build connections; join groups; engage in discussions; pay attention to updates; and embrace the mobile. They sound like fairly standard tips for using any social media network, such as Facebook - however the difference is in LinkedIn's key focus areas. They are purely about business, for business people. The latest LinkedIn stats show off a user base of 60 million professional profiles spanning 200 countries. Where better to unfold your marketing strategies and build fantastic networking contacts for your business?
