iPhone Application Development
Learn more about iPhone Application Development by Sharkey Media
Target America has produced an iPhone application that allows consumers to simply shake their phone to search the retailer's database for gift buying tips. Target is among a stampede of companies in the United States to lend their name to an iPhone application.
The iPhone is becoming an emerging medium for promoting a brand via useful applications courtesy of iPhone app developers. Apps supported by major brands are on the rise, many banks in Australia (St. George, ANZ) have produced iPhone applications and large digital players such as Amazon and eBay have all built useful applications. In the recent U.S election campaign President-elect Barack Obama released an application as a candidate so supporters could be more involved with his campaign. Supporters could use the built in GPS in the iPhone to track down the nearest campaign offices and rallies.
Internet entrepreneur Chris Sharkey says it is just the beginning of this emerging platform, "it is essentially a new medium that creates a communication platform for your brand, if consumers become engaged in your application you have plenty of opportunity to create brand and product awareness."
Sharkey Media has set up a small team as part of The Dream Team dedicated to building iPhone Applications for businesses wishing to use the platform for branding, e-commerce or marketing.
