When I first met the Smith & Hall people it was really exciting because I saw so much potential with the business they already had and the potential for it to become something much bigger.
ALISON
The business model has always been very digital marketing based, right from the beginning, it has always been a major lead response generator for the business we use it because it is very measurable, we can analyse it and we can target market very specifically
CHRIS
As well as the software and web site development we spent a lot of time on the online marketing for Smith & Hall because we are a digital agency we offer a lot more services then just the web site development, so we have setup quite a comprehensive Google Adwords campaign, we've optimise the whole web site to rank well on Google, and we've also done extensive research, link building.
PHILIP
In terms of channel and interest, people that go to the web site, we have already had an amazing amount of hits.
LAURA
The main thing that I wanted was the RSVP function, it just makes my life so much easier - it is not even funny. It also gives me the ability to control things a lot more effectively.
TIFFANY
The web site has to be very key to people getting online and then generating sales for the sales department.
CHRIS
One of the most important things for Smith & Hall is tracking their advertising campaign whether they advertise in printed media online, online, Google adwords or various other media. So we've developed a system that allows them to track these leads all the way through the sales process, making sure they know where each lead comes from and being able to associate that lead with the dollars spent on the various forms of advertising.
PHILIP
I don't think there is anybody out there who works in the business world today that doesn't have access to the internet, that doesn't have access to email - so almost our complete marketing efforts from bringing the people to us to then communicating with them are online and it's become far more effective and will continue to become far more effective with the ability we have with the web site and the continual support of Sharkey Media to express ourselves on the internet to continue to market and contact our clients and really utilise basically the market place - which is completely online these days.
ALISON
Because we are a visual based company, and all of our products are very visually stimulating, we needed to have an environment where people could easily browse through our large collection and also have a choice of the way to browse that collection. The primary focus of the web site was to build and establish a growing online gallery that was easy to use and show off our works.
CHRIS
As well as the information sections o the Smith and Hall web site we also have quite a sophisticated gallery system this allows people to view the various artworks in the gallery and refine them by various characteristics such as price range, genre, colour scheme, things like that to really narrow down what they are after. As well as that they are able to switch to cover flow way to view it in a new and exciting way which allows them to see a lot of art works really quickly and identify which ones they are after.
PHILIP
The consultancy we have got from Sharkey Media, the continued support we are getting will allow us to continue to develop that and it will make it far more interactive with our clients and the ability to pin point communication. One of the most impressive things is that while we've got a CRM which is while developed for us is somewhat of an un-equated system now, rather then dumping that and going with an expensive implementation, what Sharkey Media have allowed us to do is bring in first and foremost the most essential parts which is a web site, communication ability, they've actually taken the time and effort to link up our back office, improve that slightly and continue to improve until we are at the point when we can bring in a whole new system.

To be love your assets, to be passionate about your assets to be able to talk about assets is so much more interesting to talk about your art assets versus your BHP shares or your CBA shares and then to add the financial side of being able to rent out and earn a return on your art assets is just fantastic.

The relationship we have with Smith and Hall is incredible, we speak to them everyday, we know the intricacies of their system and business and they know our processes and how we work. That relationship is so important because there is so many things that are changing, there are so many things they want as clients, and because we are able to communicate on such a close level we are able to understand what they want straight away and get it out there as quickly as possible.
